Referring back to 2016, we were engaged by the owners of this highly prestigious new development in Longfield, Kent, where the clients wished to have a seamless poured resin floor installed over the complete ground floor, staircases and a selection of living space areas on the first floor.

We worked closely with clients, the specification team and architects, where it was decided that due to the newly installed screed and multiple underfloor heating zones that the use of an acoustic rubber crumb base between the screeds and the resin flooring option. It was agreed as the best course of action to minimise the possibility of any reflective issues should they occur at a later date.

Due to the shape of the ground floor areas and the number of rooms required for the poured resin to be applied, in-depth planning and discussions were had to ensure that the most efficient application methods were adopted to provide the very best finish for the client.

The upper areas (bedrooms and study areas) were resin poured first, followed by the two staircases with the property, which also required a completely seamless floor resin finish.

Once complete, the main ground-floor areas which included living rooms, kitchen areas, studies and other social areas received the poured resin seamless finish, over 400m2 in total. Following application, all spaces were allowed 24 hours to cure before the following stages.

The following stages required the light abrasion of the poured floor and staircase areas which then required the application of the UV stable pigmented PU sealer coatings in the chosen colour (RAL 9016) and seals.

Upon completion, the high quality installation was described as “Breathtaking” by the installation team, which was similarly echoed by the client, main contractor and every visitor who has been to the property
