How much does microcement and resin flooring cost?
The honest answer is that it depends on your space, because a seamless overlay is priced by what it takes to prepare and finish your specific floor, not a flat rate. As a guide, for floor areas over 42 square metres you can budget from £140 + VAT per square metre. Smaller and more intricate areas carry a higher per-square-metre rate because set-up costs are fixed regardless of size. Get a free, accurate quote or call +44 20 7096 8990.
What moves the price
- Floor area. Smaller areas cost more per square metre, because set-up and preparation are fixed costs spread over fewer metres.
- Substrate and its condition. Tiles, screed, concrete, timber and anhydrite each need different preparation, and a levelling screed where the floor is uneven adds cost.
- System chosen. Microcement, a poured resin comfort floor, Pandomo, Kerakoll and the polished concrete effect sit at different price points and installation durations.
- Detail and edges. Islands, enclosures, stairs, internal corners and drainage falls all add labour per square metre.
- Waterproofing. Bathrooms and wet rooms need a tanking system beneath the finish, which adds to the cost but is essential.
- Location and access. Where you are and how easily the team and materials can reach the space.
A note on room type
Kitchens are usually open floors that benefit from the larger-area rate, while bathrooms and wet rooms are smaller but more intricate, so they carry a higher rate per square metre and a minimum project value. Larger open-plan and commercial spaces are the most cost-effective per square metre.
Why we don’t publish a fixed price list
A single fixed rate would either overcharge a simple job or undercharge a complex one, and neither is fair. We survey the space, understand the substrate and the finish you want, and quote honestly on that basis. If a quote you are comparing is far cheaper than ours, it is worth asking what preparation and tanking it includes, because that is usually where the difference lies.

Frequently asked questions
How much does microcement or resin flooring cost?
As a guide, for floor areas over 42 square metres budget from £140 + VAT per square metre. Smaller and more intricate areas carry a higher per-square-metre rate because set-up costs are fixed regardless of size. The only accurate figure comes from a survey of your actual space.
Why do smaller floors cost more per square metre?
Every installation has fixed set-up costs, materials, preparation, masking and mobilising the team, that are the same whether the floor is small or large. On a small area those costs are spread over fewer square metres, so the per-square-metre rate is higher.
Does a bathroom cost more than a floor of the same size?
Usually yes. Bathrooms and wet rooms are more intricate per square metre, with walls, enclosures, internal corners, tanking and drainage falls, so there is more edge and detail work than an open floor of the same area.
Is microcement cheaper than tiling or replacing the floor?
It often works out competitive, because the overlay goes over your existing substrate with no strip-out and minimal disruption. The honest comparison depends on your floor and the finish you want, which is what a survey establishes.
